Try sledge hockey this winter!

Have you heard of sledge hockey? Also known as parahockey, this sport is the Paralympic version of ice hockey. The UNIplex, located in downtown Dieppe, has been designed to accommodate this increasingly popular sport.

The COOP IGA surface features Plexiglas strips in front of the players' and penalty benches, allowing them to see what's happening on the ice from their sleds. The doors to the players' and penalty benches provide direct, unobstructed access to the ice.

For the third year running, the municipality is allowing the general public to try out the sport free of charge. A total of 10 sleds are available on reservation. 

Sessions take place between 3:45 and 4:45 p.m. To register for the series or for a single session, to reserve your sled or to become a volunteer, contact Jonathan Desroches at 506.877.5023 or jonathan.desroches@dieppe.ca.
